I am dumping Verizon because of the horrible customer service I have had since I got this phone.
Can the Droid X be used with any other service provider?
AT&T said I can't use it on their network, anyone else?

I've heard of people succesfully using it on Cricket and MetroPCS and someone even said Sprint but I doubt Sprint would flash a VZW phone...
I can tell you the grass is not any greener with AT&T. I'd been with them for a long time, but recently left because they kept instigating lousy customer service policies. I won't bore you with my troubles with them, but I'm convinced that they train their salesmen in how to bend the truth leading you to believe wrong things without actually lying. Their "unlimited" data plan is only 5GB too. Don't let any of their salesmen tell you it's unlimited.
Well considering that it can't be used with AT&T, it's a moot point.
None of the people I know with an iphone are having as many problems as I am. I'm not a fan of proprietary ****, but the iphone has beat my Droid X at every comparison we have made. It's giving my friends a big head.It also makes me think I made a big mistake.
What I'm saying is don't be disappointed you can't use the DX with AT&T. FWIW, I have a couple friends with iphones who wish they had Droids. I've never fiddled with them myself.
Learn how to use ur phone. I have all my my coworkers on check. They all have I phones and they can even touch me with there apps or phone features.

You can always escalate the situation and climb the latter. Keep in mind customer service reps are contracted out to venders. Not to mention that each rep gets to use their own discretion in matters. I'm sure that if you threat to leave, you will start to be treated better. Especially if you have been a customer for years and bring in more revenue each month. You will not be satisfied with other carriers. VZW has been proven to be the best company to be with. Best network by far. ATT is behind and is striving to even compete with VZW. In a years time VZW 4g coverage will be same as what ATT 3g coverage is now. There are a number of other reasons to stay with VZW. I hope your luck changes with the reps.

Personally, I couldn't be happier with VZW customer service. I've been through so many phones with them... mostly all BB stormsI have always found the VZW reps on the phone to be awesome. In store, now that's hit or miss sometimes.
If you are hitting a brick wall with them and have been a customer with some history, AND are asking for something reasonable, then try customer loyalty.
I have no affiliation with VZW, but have been a customer of theres for years. I know plenty of iphone owners. They love their phone when driving on the highway. Get them out to my house where signal is marginal and not so much
DX + VZW network = me happy
Yeah it all depends on ur sales rep. I got my droid x fro free. My contract was over and my wifes too. He gave me 2 droid phones and a regular phone for 150. Then he gave me 250 dollars worth of rebates. Best experience ever. It also helps I have a corporate discount.

Well, it never hurts to be nice. I suspect a corp discount helps also or being on a large plan. I'm sure if you call up as a 6 month old customer with a 49.99 plan, you are not going to carry much clout. There are beneifts to customer loyalty. I switched to VZW about 10 years ago and they've always treated me well. That was long before my corporate affiliation too.
