Where Ever You Go, There You Are
My daughter added an app and I have tried to drag it to the trash can but it will not delete. I would also like to get rid of other apps I will not use. Is it possible to delete apps without rooting the device? I am experiencing a learning curve moving from BB to Droidx and any assistance would be most appreciated.
Yea.. I saw no activity on this sticky so I asked my questions in a new thread.
If you go to the Market and press MENU, click on My Apps, then select the app you want deleted, and there will be two options: OPEN or UNINSTALL. Tap UNINSTALL and it should uninstall it without any issues. However if your Droid X decides it wants to be a smart-alec and not uninstall it when you tell it to, then go toSettings>Applications> Manage All Apps, then select the unwanted app and tell it to uninstall. It should do it then. You don't have to be rooted if its an app you downloaded, but if its one that was preset when you first bought your Droid, then the only way to remove it is if you're rooted. I had the same issue with an app I got off the Market, and Droidlynn didn't want to delete it. But my daughter didn't delete it because she's an Amazon parrot! Hope this helps!
Swyped from Droid's Droid X! Have a Droidtastic day!

Hello, just recently I began messing around with eclipse. My problem is this; When setting the graphical layout, there is no setting for the droidx. I know I need to just make one manually, but I don't know what the x and y dpi are, in addition since I am entirely new to all this I'm not positive about what all I should do when making the new device configuration, though I'm sure I can figure most of it out.
Even a link to a page with the information I need would be wonderful. I'm not looking for a step by step guide, as I know that learning for myself is the best way to get experience. But at this point I am stuck. Thanks in advance for any help at all.![]()
Are you setting up the emulator in eclipse or building an app? The screen width is 480; length is 854. Scrolling wallpaper size would be 960x854
If you're trying to find out if your a ldpi, mdpi or hdpi droid x is a hdpi device

Well, honestly I am in the middle of the hello android tutorial. But I stopped when I got to when it starts talking about xml. When I got to the graphical layout I wanted to be sure I had the right device configuration selected. I wasn't sure if I just entered the x's screen width and length for the x and y dpi and if not how I would go about getting those numbers.
so, to answer your question; I guess i am in the middle of building an app, in the stage of choosing the xml settings. The only programming experience I have is a little bit of visual basic in college. Other than that it is all new; but I am determined to learn this.
Thank you for replying so quickly![]()
No prob I'm trying to remember what I have everything set as in eclipse on my computer. But if it's an xml you should be able to set it as the screen width/ height and x=0 y=0 would of course be the center but you already know that haha if you haven't figured it out I'll be able to help more tomorrow or check this out

Thank you very much for the info; I'll read that link and check out stackoverflow. I believe I understand what you mean. By the center, do you mean that I would set x to half the width and y to half the length?
I am experimenting with the device configuration. So until tomorrow I'll just mess around and see if I can get it
I can't thank you enough. I figured since I have a droidx I should register here. Ran across the site while browsing tutorials.
