I say this partly in jest, but also as an owner of both a Droid X and an iPhone 4. Guys... It should be as easy as it is on an iPhone to take a screenshot on the Droid / Android. Hold two buttons down at the same time. None of this root, java, sdk business. You want wide adoption of Android? Make it THAT easy.

    Cool Black Notification bar working!!

    Attachment 791Attachment 792Attachment 793Attachment 794Attachment 795snap20100806_000547.jpgsnap20100806_000215.jpg
Had so much fun following this thread and I finally got the black notification bar to work. Pure Grid Calendar, Launcher Pro Plus with bookmark widget and contact widget, pandora widget..audio manager i think thats called for volume levels. Switch something rather i forget. my social networking page blanked out on screenshot so thats why only 6 home screens. and one screen of the notification bar down. its transparent. I think the dock is froyo but I forget. My favorite app tho is Garden of Weeden lol. (the potleaf app). thanks to everyone who posted pics. they are all great. almost forgot the battery left widget, weather and toggle widget(clock and forecast i think) if you want to try the black taskbar mod (you must have root and adb - using command prompt. only do it if this is how you rooted your phone) its not hard and there are like 9 options to choose from!!

Do you see your phone listed on the left or is it just blank? If it's blank, like it was for me, this may help. After connecting to USB open the notification bar, tap the USB notification and pick Charge Only. After doing this Windows asked me for a driver and I loaded it from the Android SDK installation. Or I think the same one is linked in the first post of this thread. After I did that the phone showed up in DDMS and I was able to open the screenshot window.

    screenshot lockout

I feel your pain. I have tried everything. All new drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled SDK, rebooted my PC.....And I can not get my device to show up in the Dalvik Debub Monitor so I can take screenshots. Before last nights upload from 2.1 to 2.2 everything was great......and now nothing. Windows XP and Macbook Snow Leopard. Nothing. What am I missing??? Somebody help me...

Did you update to the 2.2 version of the Android SDK? I did this and it was fine.
