How do I use the hard keys on my phone?
Front Keys

Press Menu to open menu options (Add, Search, Wallpapers, Notifications, Settings)
Press Home to open your App tray, and also to close any menu / app and return to the home screen.
- At a home screen, press and hold Home button to show the last few apps you used, then touch an app to open it.
- Double-Tap on Home hard key for other functions. (See below)
Press Back to go backwards (in your selections).
Press Search for text search. Press and hold for Voice search.
Power Key ( Sleep & Wake Up)

To save your battery, prevent accidental taps, or when you want to wipe smudges off your touchscreen, put the touchscreen to sleep by pressing Power . To wake up the touchscreen, just press Power again, or open the phone.
To change how long your phone waits before the screen goes to sleep automatically, press Menu > Settings > Sound & display > Screen timeout.
Power key menu
Press and hold Power to open the power key menu, where you can turn OFF the phone (Power off), or turn Airplane mode or Silent mode on or off. You can press the Home or Back hard key to back out of Power key menu.
Home Button customization
You can assign a DROID X handset function to the Home key as a "Double tap" function. Just double-tap on the Home hard key to activate the specifed function.
To change the function from the home screen: Menu > Settings > Applications > Double tap home launch

Select from Browser, Camera, Contacts, Dialer, Gmail, Happenings, Maps, Messaging, Music, News, SMS, Voice Command (default setting), Voice Search as features for Double tap home launch

Can these be changed to our choice for the double click the home button (like Power Strip).
Or the long hold on the search button (like QuickDesk)?
Thanks

I was thinking it would be nice if I could set the double tap of the home button to lock my screen.

Thanks for this, forgot to change my double tap, takes me right to my messaging. Helpful because of all the texting I do.

So I guess Power Strip, and QuickDesk are no longer an option on a DX?
Thanks

Is there a way to disable the "home key wake-up" feature? I'd rather not have the slide-to-unlock activated, but without it sometimes my Droid X turns itself on in my purse or tote. I want to be able to set the phone so that it will only turn on via the power button.
