How do I use the various text messaging options on my phone?
There are several messaging options on your handsets and various ways to access each.
For MMS/SMS text messaging:
To launch Messaging, press Text Messaging application on homescreen or open applications tray with Home hard key, scroll down and select Text Messaging application.
Message List
Tap to open a message. Tap
& HOLD on thread within message for options to move, forward, delete, and
more.
Tip: To see more messages, flick or drag up.
Read & reply to messages
- To open a message and all of it's replies, tap it.
- To respond to a message, just open it and enter your response in the text box at the bottom.
- For options to forward, copy, and delete, tap and hold the specific text thread within a message.
Create messages
Within Text Messaging application, press the green plus sign at the top right of screen to begin a message.
Enter the recipient and message. In text messages and emails, press Menu for options: Add Subject, Set Priority, Insert Media files, Delete
To delete a message or a message thread
- From the main homescreen or from within Applications menu, tap Text Messaging
- On the Text Messaging screen, tap the message thread that you want to delete.
- Do one of the following:

- To delete the entire thread, press the Menu key and then tap Delete. When prompted to confirm, tap OK.
- To delete a message in a thread, press and hold the message that you want to delete, and then tap Delete message on the options menu. When prompted to confirm, tap OK.
Note: To delete all messages on the main text messaging screen, press the Menu hard key & choose Select multiple. Press Menu > Select All. All text messages will be checked, tap Delete to remove all text conversations.
To forward a text message:
o From the applications menu, tap Text Messaging.
o On the Text Messaging screen, tap the message or message thread.
o Tap and hold the message you want to forward.
o Select Forward message from the menu.
o Enter the message address or phone number.
o Tap Send.
Send & receive attachments (MMS messsaging)
To send a file in a message, open a new message and press Menu > Insert. There are several different options and file types to insert ino the message.
When you receive a message with an attachment, open the message and tap on the picture or file to view it.
- Pictures will appear in a video playback screen when viewing from a message.

- To save the picture to your SDcard, tap and hold on the photo when you get back to the message.
- You will have the options to View, Save or Share the picture.
- Tap on Save to save the photo to your SDcard.
Notes:
- SMS does not support sending to email addresses.
- To save a multimedia item received in a message, press and hold the item and select Copy to SD Card
- Some file formats can be converted to HTML for faster viewing, and your phone will show a button that says Get HTML version.
- Click here if you are having problems sending videos over MMS.
