    importing pictures?

How the heck do I get my pics from my gallery onto my computer? When I plug my phone into my computer it comes up and gives me the option to import my pics, but it only imports the pics that are in my 'files' folder, not the ones in my gallery. If I try to open my droid from 'my computer'(like a disk) there is no folder named gallery. I put my pics on flickr and i have about 200 pics on my phone. It would take me forever to upload each pic from my phone. Please tell me there is a way to get these pics from my phone onto my computer. HELP!

I always do it by just plugging in the USB and hitting import photos. When you plug it into the computer, you get a notification. Click on the notification, and make sure its set to USB Mass Storage.

Or set the notification to PC Mode and go to my computer.

The only other way I k ow to do it, is through WiFi in the DNLA program.

once I did hit 'import photos' and it said it was importing, but after 3 hours....it said it was finished but my pics were nowhere to be found on my computer. Going to my computer when set in pc mode only shows me those pics that are in 'albums'. nowhere is there a file names gallery and my 200 pics aren't anywhere to be found either. haven't tried wifi in the dnla program. I don't even know what dnla means(lol). I don't have access to wifi this weekend, so I may try it when I do. Thanks for the response

Wow. That's a long time to import. Go to search and type pictures on the computer.

plug your dx in to your comp, put it in usb mass storage mode, default folder should be: root of sd card>dcim>Camera

    check that out...

there is a pretty cool app that i use to move files back and forth from pc to phone and vice-versa called 'Android Manager Wifi' ...it's free and you can browse your phone's files and transfer them over your homes wifi network without unmounting and mounting your sd card every time

    hope that helps...

Do this and select all and drag or copy to a folder on your PC. I just did this the other day to back up my photos after I noticed a few where disappearing. It did take around 10 min to copy 4gb of pictures and videos which is about right for USB.

I've never liked import photo options, as a pro photographer I prefer to copy with windows explorer.

You guys are awesome! The last two suggestions worked. I would have never found that file (dcim). Now will it disturb anything if I rename that folder to something I can recognize and remember?

Probably not, but I'll bet the phone will make a new dcim folder and save pictures there. You might be able to go though the camera settings and change the save location and possibly make a new folder.

I have no problem remembering dcim because that is the fold created on all memory cards by all of the digital cameras I have owned.
