Question transferring data from one X to another

I had to have my Droid X replaced under insurance and am in the process of trying to "reset" the new X to match the old one. Is there an easier way to transfer or "copy" the set-up of my old phone so that I don't have to re-download every app and change every setting individually? Also, I am particularly interested in if there is a way to transfer text messages & ringtones. I have certain texts I would rather not lose.

    Thanks.

Try using SMS restore free app on market for the texts. Also use dropbox (free) to put info from your phone onto your actual computer. Backup apps using astro file manager (free). Pull your sdcard out and all your app info should be stored on it. Actual screen set up can only be saved using launcher pro plus.

Was your other phone rooted? If so, make a back up (aka nandroid). It saves here - /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/**your file**. Root the new DX and create a backup. Move the old file to the same folder in the new phone. Now boot to recovery and restore that backup. Your phone should be 100% exactly like it was on the other phone.

I'm thinking DROID BIONIC for 4g coverage. I stopped by Verizon and asked about transferring all my info from my Droid X over to the Bionic, and they were not real clear on it. Can someone guide me along here? My phone has not been modifed in any way. Just looking for the easiest way to do it. Also, is there a Bionic Forum that anyone really likes?

What info are you looking to transfer? Contacts are backed up by google and should be synced when you setup hour google account on the bionic. You can backup your sms with an app called "smsbackup" from the market then restore them on the bionic.
