Whenever I try and quick upload a photo, I get the message "Starting upload <*@gmail.com>" and then a "No default email account" message, and the upload fails.
Any ideas?

ClarkRU, I'm having the same problem. Did you solve it?
it appears for some odd reason this feature does not work with a Gmail account configured as a Google account. If I configure a "Email" account (or at least the SMTP side of one, including using smtp.googlemail.com config with a gmail account), it works fine. It kinda makes sense technically when you consider share includes both Gmail and Email (they're treated separately), but from a UI/UX side they should really let any Gmail/Email account on the device be used as the sending account.
I'm having this same problem. I try to use my gmail account for the quick upload, and it tells me "no default email account". So I can't use my gmail for quick upload? How do I configure another email address, such as my main Cox account, to be my default for quick uploads?
I "solved" this by creating a picasa account and quick uploading to that. Works just as well i suppose.
I had to add my "email" in phone settings - accounts - email..... NOW it works again....![]()
No it does not. Email, gmail, it's the same thing from the forest view. I should have to be a jedi to figure this out. Can someone please provide instructions for the neophite oxygen-breathing CO2 expelling lifeform that doesn't get this obviously intuitive application? Thanks! Because WTF, I just want to send a pic or two to a friendo or 3. Without all this jibber jabber.

I just had the problem, and thought I'd post the solution here. Basically, you have to set up a NEW email (even though gmail and google apps emails ARE technically emails).
What this program (the "gallery") requires is pop (or possibly imap) access. I set up a new gmail pop account (sort of duplicating my already entered google apps account).
1. Click the "Menu Key"
2. Click "Settings"
3. Click "Accounts" towards the middle.
4. Click "Add Account" at the bottom.
5. Click "Email" towards the top of the list.
6. Enter in your email login info. If it automatically configures it for you, great! If not, just enter the correct pop access info. gMail pop access found HERE. Make sure you go into the "Advanced Settings" for "Incoming" and "Outgoing" to enter in the correct port number, etc.
7. Try to "Quick Upload" a picture to email. Make sure your email address is there to chose or type it in. You are done!
Now, mine didn't work the first time, because my password was off. I think an error popped up on my screen to tel lme there was a connection error.
I hope that helps!
Chris
