I know most people know how to do this, but I'm sure some people new to Android were wondering how, so here it is!
So, you tried putting your AVI file on your SD card, and Windows pops up saying you can either convert it and then put it on, or just put it on in standard AVI format. Converting takes MUCH longer and when you just put the AVI on it, it doesn't play! Here is the solution!
What you need:
Droid X (hehe)
Astro File Manager (on the Market)
RockPlayer - **Rockplayer is out of Beta, Do Not post Links**
Steps:
1. Plug in your Droid to your computer
2. Drag the RockPlayer APK file over to your Droid X's SD card. Put it in your APK folder or wherever you will remember it
3. Open up Astro and browse to the APK you just put on it.
4. Tap it, and tap "Open in App Manager", then tap "Install"
5. It will install, and then open it!
6. Browse to wherever your precious AVI files are stored and watch them!
The Droid X gets a steady 24 FPS during playback. It works great with TV shows or movies!
