Ok Mudig we are going to need you to check a few things, and give us some more info.
First we need to know if you unplug the charger does the crackling sound go away. If it does go away then we will need to have do a few more tests on it to determine where the extra noise is coming from.
Second, have you tried more than one audio cable?
Third we need you to confirm that the only time you hear the crackling is when it is connected to the car.
Some optional information, but may help is year, make and model of the car, and is it the original factory stereo?
- I do have a car charger but I've never used it yet.
- I haven't tried another audio cable but I hear absolutely no crackling when I play my regular mp3s from the phone
- I haven't tried listening to Pandora through my earphones, so I wouldn't know.
I will try Last.fm next to see if I get the same problem.
If you use an FM transmitter it could be interference. I have noticed crackling if the plug in the headphone port is moved around while you drive and definitely if you have the volume too low. Too high volume usually results in audio bands being blown out and distorted.
If you use Bluetooth the above won't apply obviously.

Religion is a crutch, but that's okay... humanity is a cripple.
I get some minor crackling sounds when listening to Pandora through headphones. Volume level does not seem to make a difference. I was just shrugging it off as low quality streaming, but what do I know... There may be more to it than that.
Ok, interesting. I am wondering does having the car running or not change anything?
Also what signal strength are you getting?
No, it doesn't change anything. The signal strength is usually 3-4 bars.
Dang, now thats a quandary. Do you have any other amplified audio output source that you could plug your X into? Could be a home stereo, or even amplified computer speakers (they have their own power sourse and volume control). If so does it happen on any of these output devices?
Oh yeah, going to bed now. Must be up in the morning to get the kids off to school.
Very strange. Crackling is typically a hardware issue. But, if it's not coming from any other media source on your X, that eliminates the hardware. Digital audio doesn't crackle unless it clips or, if there's data errors. I'm trying to think of any apps that might be meddling with your Pandora signal but I'm at a loss. Perhaps it's corrupted in some way and the crackling is the result of digital errors. Try un-installing and re-installing Pandora.
