Chomp SENDING multiple messages to others

I've had Chomp SMS for a while and I've never been able to figure out why it always sends out multiple of the same message to my recipients. Recently it's gotten worse to where if I send a message to Person A (who gets it twice), then a different message to Person B later, Person A will get a repeat of their message when I send the message to Person B. Then I send another message to Person A who gets the new message twice and the first message again. So someone might get the same message from me 5 times over the course of 2 days or more.

Anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix or will going to another app fix it?

I'm running Rooted Gingerbread 4.5.605

Never have used this app before but have you tried clearing data under settings/applications /manage applications?
