Honestly bro check out the Monster Turbine. Best earbuds i've ever owned. Basics are amazing to the normal person. I have a set of the copper edition but do a lot of music production stuff to use them to listen to stuff on my X. Amazing quality and Monster will replace them free of charge even if you get pissed and deliberately break them out of rage.

There are a lot of good types. I have some high-end Bose. Shure is great too. Don't get anything too expensive because the quality of the sound is going to be pretty limited. Even if you have high resolution audio files, you're still only working with a cheezy digital to analog converter built in the phone so it doesn't justify any real high-end earphones.

I have these from a while ago.

They work great. no complaints. Blocks foreign sound by 95-100% (depending on music being played)

    http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Ears-...1256358&sr=1-2

these are an older design, although still good for 30 bucks

    here is a newer one:

Amazon.com: Ultimate Ears MetroFi 200 Noise Isolating Earphones:…

    are around 40 bucks.

This company was bought out by Logitech, so its not some random brand.
