Is there anything even being developed for Android like that right now? Be kinda neat to plug a guitar in and rock out through your car stereo or something.

Yeah that's pretty cool, u sure there ain't already one?
Reliberated X Roll Tide!!
I looked, I haven't found anything yet. It's seriously the only application I have iPhone envy over. I mean I'm sure it's just a simple amp modeler so it's not gonna sound all that great, but being able to plug a guitar into your smart phone and rock out just oozes geek coolness!
I haven't seen anything like that but there is an app that will read the diagnostic codes from your car and reset them via the droid. (Torque)

Agreed!! The developer/company needs to consider an android version.
If I could move it up the priority level to take the time I'd do this, but maybe someone should contact the developer/company and make this suggestion.
How many closet-case shredders, blues, rockabilly, jazz, fusion, etc etc etc 6-string players are there (or 4-string for that matter) that have android devices these days?
Huuuuuuge market.
hmmmm.. And the Droid X has HDMI out. ooooooh.. hmmm.. Straight digital output to a nice far far better DAC, say in any given receiver or other headphone DAC even, then out wherever, to phones or other.. Or even a pro setup. So you wouldn't be hindered by what I'd bet are mediocre at best audio DAC's in the phone.
You'd think either they'd do this or Line-6 or someone like that who's got the market on the whole amp-modeling thing.
Ok.. I took the time to email them. I guess I have the right site:

I suggest you guys also do the same. There's influence in numbers. I made the argument that there is a HUUGE market potential among Droid owning guitar players.

I was just going to suggest we all email them. I'm gonna rattle off an email right now too.
And yes, this app wouldn't also be just useful for the cool factor. I don't know how many of you guys are guitarists/bassists, but I'm actually a gigging musician. Sure, modelers don't sound as good as the real deal amplifier, but how convenient would that app be in a pinch? Blew an output tube on you amplifier? Didn't bring a spare amp? Here sound guy, run a line out from my phone into your mixer, I can still make it through this gig!
But yes, I mostly want it for the geek coolness factor. Guitar -> phone -> bluetooth -> car stereo -> rocking out in the back seat!
There, emailed. I had to let them know that Android is holding an equal market share to iPhone now, so they should tighten up.

emailed... if it used the HDMI it could be a pretty viable digital music tool!
