Hello i got the GV app installed and the sipdroid app installed i open sipdroid click the banner at the bottom "new pbx linked to my google voice" i enter my GV account password in the two boxes hit create and it says "please stand bye while your account is being created" then a few seconds later it pops up saying "can't connect to webserver"

ive been searching to internet all morning trying to find any related post's with the solution to this problem but have come up empty handed any help would be appreciated.

i have sip droid version 2.4 beta.

ive already tried uninstalling and re-installing the app. the GV email is correct on the create screen and ive re-entered my password sevreal times to make sure it is correct. also tried clearign data and force stopping sipdroid then tried again.

I have the EU version of the droid 2, called milestone 2 model #A953, and am with a regional carrier Union Wireless, out of wyoming.

and yes my wifi is working fine and my phone is connected to my wifi just fine.

i did notice when i went to pbxes.org on my pc i got a webpage saying something about certificate being expired and click here to continue anyways.

Have you tried signing in to pbxes to see of an account was in fact created?

Snow02, I tried your method. But it won't work on my phone. When I dialed a # and it says, "No suitable data network available" I'm using it over wifi. I haven't subscribe to a data plan or anything. Is this why it's showing that problem? I thought i could use sipdroid thru wifi to call, isn't that what its supposed to do?

You can. Make sure wlan is checked in sipdroid settings (it should be by default) and you're connected to wifi.

What's the status with VOIP now with ICS roms? I swear when I installed EncounterICS that I saw somewhere to add a SIP account somewhere. Perhaps sipdroid would be irrelevant on ICS roms?

I wish I could find where I saw the SIP settings in encounter.

EDIT: ah, found it! Go to dialer, menu key, settings. I wonder if you can put your pbxes account info in there and it work and lose sipdroid.
EDIT2: Made separate thread about looking into VOIP with ICS. It's HERE.

    I'm a mobile man.

Yep. Voip is finally built in by default. It works great.
