Quick question. If Google decides to eventually charge for calling via Gmail/Google Chat, such as Skype does to call phone numbers, this would put the kibosh on free, right?

Yes. But for now it's free. Should be through the rest of the year at least.

And I promise I'm writing the pbxes guide to address the wrong account and wrong password issue guys. It's coming...

I'm at 698 of 700 (until Thursday) minutes so I decided it was time to try this out. Set up per your instructions and disabled cdma to test it. Worked like a champ. Only thing that has me confused is I never have the choice to make calls with Sipdroid or cellular. Every call is going through Sipdroid. I haven't been prompted which I'd like to use. I went into settings, forced stopped the dialer and cleared data. That didn't help. I went into GV settings and set it to "Ask me every time I make a call". Even if I call "without Google Voice" it uses Sipdroid.

For the time being this is great but after Thursday I'll need to call people from a number they know. I don't know if it matters but I'm rooted and running Gummy Jar 2.5. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

EDIT: It would help if I checked the application settings. Disregard my question.

Hah. Yeah. Turn google voice to never use. Sipdroid to phone. Then when you want to make a call using sipdroid put a + at the end of the number like: 555-555-5555+
That will dial via sipdroid, and prevent you from having to get a prompt everytime you want to place a regular phone call.

I just made a call with a plus sign at the end, now every call is asking for sipdroid without option of using regular cellular network. How can I reverse this and start making cellular calls again?

In sipdroid settings, call options, set preferred call type to phone. Also make sure google voice is set to never use. Just dial normally.

Using the + is a per call toggle, it doesn't permanently change any settings. When you want to use sipdroid, add the +, when you want to place a regular phone call, just dial normally.
