I was just curious to see what motorcycle mount(s) people are using. A mount with a waterproof case, or just an open bracket mount? Did you get a power adapter/cigarette lighter, or just using the mount? Stuff like that.
I'm thinking about getting something for the bike for the long rides and was just looking to get some feedback.

I have a RAM mount on my bike for my TomTom GPS which came with a power wire I hardwired to my battery. I in no way would ever think of mounting this phone on my bike....wouldnt take the chance of something happening to it.
Just My Opinion......
I would love to know how folks are mounting. Although I will most likely just put in in my center windshield bag. I have an aftermarket Sony head unit (for hand controls) and used iPod Touch via USB. Just picked up my Droid X Thur. and really want to do away with the iPod.
Well, the more I think about it, the less I think I would ever use the mounted Droid for anything. I'm not going to use the GPS. One, because I USUALLY know where I'm going, and two, it would just be too distracting to check it out while riding. I have an atlas in my saddle bag, and I have no issue with stopping for a 2 minute break to look at it. Also, all of my music is on my iPod, and there's no way it would all fit on the Droid. So, I wouldn't be using it to listen to music, either. I'm thinking I'll just leave the phone in my windshield bag for emergencies and think about this again down the line to see if there's really a reason for me to mount it on the bike.
Hey, I've been trolling around and found a few options that I've seen on some motorcycle forums but none of them are built specifically for the X. I'd be nervous using anything that didn't fit the X perfectly and was guaranteed to work properly. I've heard good things about RAM Mount but again, none of them are made for the X so without some kind of guarantee I don't think I would use it. Also, can the vibrations harm the device? I'm curious to see what other have done or plan to do.

RidersClaw is supposedly coming out with a mount for the DX similar to their line for Ipods and Iphones. I've got one for my Nano that is nicely machined aluminum that's high quality chromed. Looks great.
Wow $114 for an IPhone mount!

Shouldn't have to control it really. I'd like to set up navigation while parked and just watch when I'm near a turn. It sure as hell beats printing our Google Maps and taping it to my tank! If I could mount it to the handle bars that's easier to look at than all the way down to the tank. RAM Mounts look good but nothing specifically for the X.
The RAM Mount looks huge but secure. I wish I knew how big it was in person before ordering. It'd be perfect if I could find a mount that placed the DX over the handle bar clamp which is below my speedo. Anyone else using this or something similar?
If you keep in mind Vlingo/google voice commands, I could see how a bike mount + bluetooth headset would work great.
