Truck driver needs a GOOD bluetooth earpiece!!
I drive an 18 wheeler. I've owned 4 bluetooth earpieces in the past. Only one of them, a motorola, has worked well in the LOUD truck. I've had a $90 plantronics and 2 others and they were COMPLETELY useless in the truck. people constantly complained about background noise. So if anybody out there is a truck driver and has found one that can deal with the background noise, please let me know what to get. Thanks!

Blueant T1. $79 at Best Buy and its ruggedized. Make sure you download the app for it in the market. It really extends functionality. If you have the car dock and an auxiliary jack on your stereo, forget the bt in the truck and just plug it in. The mics on this phone are so good, there is little if any background noise and people say I am good and loud when I talk to them. I mounted a small mirror next to the air valves on my Columbia to mount the phone right above the stereo so its about 2-3ft away and low to the right. Works great and nothing sticking out of my ear all day. I also highly recommend Google Listen. Beats the hell out of XM Radio. For audio books, download Mortplayer Audiobook and its widget and get non DRM'd books for the same price as Audible from Emusic.

Great info from both of you!!! I don't have the aux. jack on my radio in my truck. I'll check some reviews on the blueant. I have noticed alot of truckers with the full headphones too. I can't deal with that though. lol thanks again for the info. I'll be coming back to this post when i get my phone in.

I am a LTL driver. I know the feeling!
I have a Motorola HX1 which I have had great luck with. It even has a stealth mode which works quite well. I can stand in front of the truck with the motor running and no background noise, only because it picks up the vibrations from your jawbone from INSIDE your ear canal.
I used the Blueant T1, it was ok, but not as good as the HX1.
The fit on the HX1 is ok, but I cannot leave it in my ear all day.

My dad is a trucker. He's tried a lot of different headsets. He swears up and down by the ones that have foam surrounding the mic that goes down to in front of his face.

Motorola H17tx, is the headset I've had the most luck with. I've had 2 different jawbones....don't go there and the Motorola H5 don't bother with that one either.
The sound is crystal clear and also the H17 reads text messages and emails, that was the clincher.
Just my opinion of course.

I'd try the Jabra clipper. I got mine from the Verizon store after I got my phone and I love it. I have earbuds since my ears are too small the a regular earpeice. Working on a boat with 3 375hp motors mounted on the back gets pretty loud.
