I have a class 10 32GB card and I am seeing Android hang problems on a Nook Color. You indicate above that above class 4 causes problems. Could you explain or point me to an explanation? Thanks.

ye ole droid x seems to run best on class 4 sd card and thing over that you will start seeing problems such as hanging or the phone not recognizing the card or insuficiant storage space dialogs..

My best guess has been that the media scanner causes the hangs. Scanning the sd card is a very random read operation, and class 10 cards have horrible random read/write performance.
The hanging due to class 10 cards has been posted on by several people and experienced by me personally.

Sounds like a very good guess. I've had other issues with the media scanner. I'll put my class 10 card on the shelf and use class 4 instead. Have you heard anything about what class media the Nook tablet likes? I'm going to purchase one and I'll root it, and I'm wondering whether my 32GB class 10 card that's on the shelf will play properly with it.

One theory: higher speed rated cards draw more power, and many mobile devices can't supply the kind a power a desktop PC can, so those cards should work fine in a PC.
