For listenining while I excersize, I have a pair of bose earbuds. No phone functions builtin, but they sound great.

I have a set. The stock voice dial can be a little dodgy, but once you are connected, it works fine. I like being able to use them to listen to music while I am at work and not worry about wires everywhere. I do get some brief pauses every now and then if my phone is moving around a lot. They are very comfortable, much better than ear buds.

Those would be great for running... but I am not sure if I want to lose the great sound of my Bose noise canceling. Headphones... but maybe something I may check out

I've read lots of complaints about sweat killing these, so maybe not the best for working out. The Plantonics 903's are supposedly an updated version of these with better sweat resistance, but who knows...
