    Why cover Gorilla Glass?

From what I've read, Gorilla Glass is made very tough and takes abuse to actually scratch or pit it.(New York Times review). Why cover this glass with a screen protector?

No scratches mine yet. I usually keep it in my pants pocket, with my coins.

Today it was in my left shirt pocket, and fell out on concrete. The battery cover flew off, but the phone is still good.

At night, I place the phone face down, because the notifier LED flashing can wake me up....

It does chip. I dropped mine from about 1 and a half feet it landed screen down on my garage floor. Now there is a very small chip. I had it barricaded in a Kraken case, but after using it without a case I discovered how much easier it is to use the screen mainly edges with no case. Needless to say after the drop its sealed up again...lol!

The day I got my X hooked up at the VZW store I had the rep put a screen cover on it and I looked down at my phone and was like "What's wrong with the screen?! It looks horrible!" I gave it back to the rep and said "Here, take this screen protector off...it's gorilla glass, right? I shouldn't have any problems!"

One year later and in my pocket everyday it looks as good as the day I brought it home. Go coverless!

I use the anti-glare cover just because, well, I am against glare...
Caseless, but I do rock a Zagg LeatherSkin!
