Battle of the $8 TPU cases

So here it is. I ordered 2 TPU cases from eBay to mess with. They were sub $8 but I rounded up.
Pictures below are of the two. The one on the left is the (generic brand) Smoke Argyle Crystal Skin TPU Gel Case and the one on the right is the Amzer Luxe Argyle Gel Skin Case (TPU). The installed pics are those of the Amzer.
Both cases are smoked.

Quick notes:

Fit and finish go to the Amzer case. The tolerances of the Amzer are tighter on the DX than on the generic TPU case. The Amzer also gets the nod on stiffness. The generic case is more pliable/soft. I prefer the stiffer one (insert joke: That's what she said.)

Button function goes to the generic TPU case. It's MUCH harder to manipulate the power button and the camera button with the Amzer case. It's a breeze with the generic case since it's softer.

As far as the "smokiness" of the cases, the Amzer is lighter. Doesn't matter to me.

Cutouts.. Amzer wins this hands down. Although not 100% perfect, the Amzer cutouts are more precise for the phone. It looks like the generic case's manufacturer anticipated a longer speaker or something. Who knows..

The generic case arrived in 3 days time through USPS First Class. Funny thing about the Amzer case, mind you it was $8 shipped, arrived to me today via FedEx OVERNIGHT! Can you believe that? FedEx knocked on my door and said here you go. The seller on eBay spent probably more than quadruple the cost of the case to ship it out. I'm betting they have a crazy hookup with shipping.

Well that's about it for a review on the cases. Take your pick. I'm sticking with the Amzer for now. I mean, come on.. It's $8.

I found these Amazon.com: Used and New: Motorola DROID X Xtreme MB810 (Verizon) Skin Case Protector Soft Silicone "Basket Weave Texture Grip" Black on Amazon.

Got mine for $6.48 which includes the shipping. This will suffice and is a cheap alternative for some protection for my phone while I wait for a real
nice leather flip up case to hit the market.

I'm not a fan of silicon cases. They pick up lint and drag in and out of the pocket. Cheap nonetheless.. TPU is where it's at for me. Or at least smooth plastic.

Love my generic $8 tpu case. Mine also had the large speaker hole so I emailed the seller and he is sending me another one with the precise holes in it for free!

From the pics, it looks like the amzer has the argyle on the outside. Does it or is it just the lightness of the case?

I don't think I'll be getting a non tpu case anytime soon, I love the material.

Ah, so just like my knock off. I guess you can just see the pattern more since the Amzer is more clear.

Neither am I but this is cheap protection until I can get a case I really want which is a quality leather flip up.

I sure do wish somebody would make this case without the argyle pattern. I don't particularly care for my phone to look like Payne Stewart's pants.

I agree. A friend of mine actually found them on eBay somewhere in plain colors and ordered a black one. He said it is just as nice as his smoked argyle one except it shows the fingerprints a lot more. So I won't be getting a solid color but a PLAIN clear color would be nice.
