I believe a lot of folks think of a RC helicopter and associate with that junk on TV. It is a bit more than that. It is all about the 3D baby.

I can tell you that took some talent, practice, and quite a few damaged pieces of equipment to get to that level. I had an uncle that was in to RC and he had a helicopter. To even get one of them off the ground without losing control takes quite a bit of practice.

Oh and I didn't get this comment in your post.

Reminds me of the first time I tried to fly an RC helicopter. Looked about the same for the first 5 seconds or so then just pieces. What software did you use for the title sequence?

Lots of sim time :) I haven't flow in a few years for various reasons. I have 5 heli's and various RC planes (used to fly IMAC). Lots of fun but can be very expensive when you take one in :)

Yeah it took maybe 3 flights to crash one well

Yeah he is pretty good at "normal" flying too. Bert has flown a few of mine. "Nicely".

I kept expecting that thing to fly out of my monitor and slice my face in half.

How is it that a helicopter can fly while upside down? Does the prop pitch completely reverse? That is insane.

YES. You lock the throttle and control the pitch.

This guy is so good that if he sharpened the rotors he could trim the hedges to look like Disney characters

Oh, missed this question. I used Motion (http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/motion/)

Cutting the grass is pretty common. Most everyone does once they learn to fly inverted.

And when ya get real good you do those crop circle looking things on your lawn. It would be like the movie Signs only on your grass.

I fly r/c helis too and let me tell you that it looks really cool but one slip of the stick while inverted can cost $400 or more. The head rotors are very delicate (= very expensive)

I would pretty scared to stand that close to a helicopter and move it that fast. I had one I bought for $30 bucks, the ones on TV. They are easy to fly but can do nothing like that. I was at the mall a couple days ago and saw these helicopters you can fly from your phone. I didn't check to see if there is a droid app, but I am sure there is. There is a camera on the front of the helicopter which you see on your phone, so you can fly it anywhere and watch it.

WOW! THAT WOULD BE ONE INSANE HEADACHE IF YOU WERE ACTUALLY FLYING IN THAT!!!

On a side note... If you flew it upside down across your grass, it would make for some very interesting lawn mowing. ;)
