Hi there I recently bought a Droid X2 off Ebay that was once a Verizon phone. It is Android version 2.3.5 It is build number 4.5.1A-DTN-200-18
It came with an activation number/card for Straighttalk.
I successfully activated it with Straighttalk and it works great. The problem I have is this: I desperately want to get rid of all the bloatware!
I am very computer saavy, but my smart phone skills are, well, lacking. I have searched about rooting, but I am worried about messing up my service.
I would really appreciate if anybody here can tell me/link me to a step by step that won't turn my phone into a brick.
I got a really really good deal on this phone, and love my Straighttalk service and it's price, but the phone just bogs down with all the bloatware.
I just joined this forum and I will be here all day searching about, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you and Happy 4th of July.

First need to root see [How to] Root 2.3.5/1.3.418 (http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x2-hacks/46304-how-root-2-3-5-1-3-418-a.html)
.
Then you can use a File Manager like Root Browser (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree) to remove bloatware.

.
or install a custom rom like Eclipse see [/URL][U]Install BSR (http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x2-roms/46031-rom-eclipse-v2-2-5-7-12-a-5.html#post580786)and installing Eclipse 2.3 (http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x2-roms/46031-rom-eclipse-v2-2-5-7-12-a-5.html#post580786)
