View Full Version : Downgrade (or fix) CM11 to any stable ROM

Hello, I've previously posted a thread for assistance about upgrading my Milestone X from Froyo to the Droid X Gingerbread via SBF. Currently, I have sdshadow's port of CM11 for the Droid X and I have found some bugs like sudden reboots, poor color reproduction on the camera, and no video recording. I really like KitKat but at this point, it's really unreliable. I don't care if it screws up the phone part of the device, since my daily driver is a Pantech Breakout. What I really need is that 8MP camera to take good pics and record, stability, and good connections (WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS). Also, I would appreciate that Ingress and Minecraft were supported, although it's not a must have.

I always carry both these phones with me, and the Droid/Milestone X is a burden for me. Please post suggestions for any good ROMs and how to downgrade from CM11.

Try liquid ics 2.0 link in my list

For cm11 issues, download from mega links, twrp, rom, and gapps...
sbf, root, install twrp, wipe data and cache 2-3 times in twrp, install rom, boot rom once, reboot twrp, install gapps.

which rom?
cm11 needs twrp recovery
liquid ics will not install in twrp, need older clockworkmod 5.0 or 2.0

Liquid ICS. Does that mean i have to flash cwm 5.0 in twrp? I understand that, but after that?

If you currently have twrp I recommend flashing SBF, wipe in stock recovery, reroot, bootstrap..

what did sbf did you use before, did you save it? should always have it available.
try https://mega.co.nz/#!xUIDyBxI!QQ9OphZcUUT2lPZm1wewj2PPcN9lMzsM6xy9Eqg JNIY
-DX (MB810) ezSBF 2.3.4/4.5.621 (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1V_meI1kibcU-yKrRwzhAuGKPEWCS0lOwNDgg2dOJOQw/edit#heading=h.6m0c9tv85ats) - it will work fine on the MX.

After downloading, system got full. Also was missing a flash drive.

other option is flashing my no radio sbf with rsd lite
no flash drive needed
2.3.4.4.5.621.no.radio.sbf.zip (http://d-h.st/fFW)

Using RSD Lite to flash a .SBF to restore (Stock Rom) (https://docs.google.com/document/d/14RwYtaEd-Rcp_2jH0zj7yCpVi4YWqlm4v7r3NNCstTw/edit)

No radio, huh? I can live without it. No worries

just means it won't flash over cdma radio setting like full sbf using rsd lite will.

Give the instructions slow paced. The files are downloading, but I'm pretty sure i can screw the phone up without even connecting it.

Also, if the phone reebots in KK, could it reebot in the bootloader? (Ya know, questions are made for learning, not always are they smart)

Just follow my written instructions.

with power off, hold both volume buttons, press power, release buttons when you see a little flash on screen.
doesn't matter what rom is on phone, when you sbf.

Have a problem. RSD Lite v6.1.5 isn't recognizing the device, even with the cable you recommended. I tried in both USB 3.0 and 2.0 to no avail.

doesn't matter what rom is on phone, when you sbf. Okay. What i meant was that if KitKat was unstable, would any other part of the system (i.e. the bootloader) be unstable too. But it's okay anyways.

I took the leap to do what the instructions on RW said. I installed it and now it's up and running. But now i have a problem. I installed xposed and then downloaded tinted status bar and expandable volume, alongside the google now for ics hack. Now i have a nav bar. i wanted a nav bar anyways but it's force closing system UI when i tap back or home. Still, not a must have but would be nice.
