Hold the power button. Reboot. Reboot recovery. Then flash them just like the ROM. No need to wipe data or cache or anything

from here http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/cm9/42025-rom-cm9-encounterics-x-beta-3-stability.html it
says
(Don't forget to flash gapps [link below] RIGHT AFTER you flash the ROM! Otherwise you'll have issues.)
never flashed that rom , may have need special gapps
I suggest wiping data. reflashing rom and gaaps
or better flash a rom that has been updated since 2011.
several good roms in my list (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QZtlBNvzefJXL1QAM5FJWJWlXHmy4skwmya-XaTM5QE/edit#bookmark=id.ns4kw26uipjw) , like Liquid ics 2.1 (no gapps needed)

Okay I think I'll try to change to Liquid ics 2.1 but how do I go about installing that rom. On this link: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/40011-liquidics-v21a-unofficial-31214/ do I just downoad the zip for version 2.1 only not the other ones?
Sorry I am really new to this thanks.

I installed zip correctly and when I rebooted it the "M" sign came on and then it turned blank.
I had 4.0.1 encounter ics before this, I wiped the data then installed it.
My stock rom before encounter ics I had 2.3

Okay android bootmenu comes on and when I go on to recovery button it says two options CWM recovery and RZR recovery. When I tried to click CWM recovery it turned blank! Before I installed Liquid ICS it said on the recovery; latest recovery, stock recover,... etc now it doesn't have that

On the top of bootmenu it says credit: first encounter, cyangendefy team, and wizard0f0s.
I don't know what to do now help.

How am I supposed to take this rom out if CWM is not working. I ruined my droid didn't I?

download the 605 or 621 sbf, drivers, and rsd lite.
safest is 621 (4.5.621), if you are not sure which stock system version was original on phone, because you can not downgrade 621.

Normally with motorola devices we refer to the system version, rather than android version, because there are often multiple versions of the same android version.

of course all of this is in my Using RSD Lite to flash a .SBF to restore (Stock Rom)
on Droid X (Shadow-MB810) (https://docs.google.com/document/d/14RwYtaEd-Rcp_2jH0zj7yCpVi4YWqlm4v7r3NNCstTw/edit#heading=h.qe6fkhizr8af) or https://docs.google.com/document/d/14RwYtaEd-Rcp_2jH0zj7yCpVi4YWqlm4v7r3NNCstTw/edit#heading=h.qe6fkhizr8af

download this file
Moto Drivers Drivers win 7.zi (http://d-h.st/vXK)p
unzip, and copy to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Motorola Shared\Mobile Drivers\Drivers
open Windows Device Manager
start>control panel>hardware & sound>devices & printers>device manager

if drivers are not installed correctly
may see, with a ! in a yellow triangle

click on device, properties, drivers, uninstall driver
then disconnect usb cable, reconnect usb cable
wait for windows to retry drivers
click on device, update drivers, browse for drivers to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Motorola Shared\Mobile Drivers\Drivers
install
if it works re-run rsd lite

I went on device manager and its saying "This device is working properly"
