Title says it all. Any reason something like this wouldn't work?

Micro USB OTG SD Mini SD Micro SD M2 MS Card Reader Writer for Smart Phone | eBay

Would love to copy trail cam photos in the field.

I had the Droid X2 (up until the end of June when when I traded it in towards my Galaxy S4). I do not believe it supports OTG. OTG started appearing after the phone was on the market. While I am not absolutely 100% sure, I'm pretty sure it will not work. OTG stands for On The Go and only certain tables and smartphones support OTG.

don't think any one has got a otg cable to work with the dx2. Think the d3 is capable but requires a external usb power source?

I have considered trying something like this Amazon.com: 48cm Sd-micro Sd Card Extender Cable: Computers & Accessories (http://www.amazon.com/48cm-Sd-micro-Card-Extender-Cable/dp/B007WYRO7O/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1384211020&sr=8-3&keywords=micro+sd+card+cable)but have not yet, because it wouldn't be very practical.

correction, DX2 seems to have limited otg support, you will need an external usb power source for the sd card

Ok thanks, figured I'd ask here before spendign $4 to find out. Would have been nice, but not really a huge deal.

There are SD cards that you can connect wirelessly. You leave it in the camera and it sends out a wifi signal to connect with computers and I believe other devices. Might be worth a shot. Check on amazon, etc.
