So, I recently had a situation where I had to use my phone as a hotspot, and the only app that would work even some of the time was Barnacle. I went to their website, and they say that Android 2.1 and 2.2 on the Droid X have been confirmed to work well with Barnacle. So, I was wondering how I would go about downgrading to 2.2 from 4.0.4, and preferably install a ROM. I was also wondering if it would possible to quickly (under 5 min) switch between 2.2 and 4.0.4? If I can't, then does anyone have a working download link for DarkSlide 4.2 (blur or blurless)?

if 2.3.4/4.5.621 was installed on phone you can not flash earlier versions.

FoxFi (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.foxfi&hl=en) should work Maybe if I pay for the full version, which I don't feel like doing.

I'm currently running the CM9 ROM. Are there any other compatible ROMs that have a built-in hotspot feature that avoids Verizon's hotspot charges?
