View Full Version : Accidentally used Dx Bootstrap instead of D2 Boot Strap..Stuck on Miui loading screen

Well I messed up my ROM but I am sure it is fixable. I just don't know how. I am a noob when it comes to this. I rooted my phone once and installed Miui along time ago and got the urge to switch to CM ROM. I forgot that you are supposed to use D2 Bootstrap so of course I used Dx Bootstrap. Now I am stuck on the Miui Loading screen. Here is what I have done so far.... First I tried to Load from Titanium Backup and I couldn't locate the file. Then I went to the MIUI folder and tried to download the zip of Miui Shadow and that didn't work. Still went to the same Miui loading screen and was stuck. Do I need to put a file on my SD to SPF? If so which one? I am on ICS. Hope that all made sense. And thank you ahead of time

MIUI has a built-in recovery. Using either of those bootstraps you mentioned would do this. No problem. You should be able to get where you want to be without an sbf. I just don't remember how to get into recovery on x2 (can hardly remember it for dx anymore). One of us will come along with better help soon. In the meantime relax, it'll get fixed.

try pulling battery, replace,
press power, if you see a blue led, press the volume down
then choose cwm recovery

if you don't see the blue led, you will need to flash a sbf
use the 605 if you haven't had 621 yet

official cm7 is installed on froyo 2.2 only
just use Pooka's CM7 (http://d-h.st/NB1) (flash with 7.1 Gapps)

Yeah I have .621 :( So I downloaded RSD Lite 5.4.4 and about to SBF with .621 Is this correct? (I do not have a blue LED flash when reboot) I have .621 Ice Cream Sandwich

10-29-2013, 01:24 PM
621 is gingerbread, 2.3.4 system version 4.5.621
yes, flashing with rsd lite or ezSBF are your only options

this is a verizon phone, on verizon?
if it is flashed to a carrier other than verizon do not use rsd lite, use ezSBF 621

Yes I have Verizon and have SBF'd successfully. If I had Titanium Back up, Bootstrap and Clockwork is there a way to return to root and or Miui or do I have to go through everything again?

install a bootstrap
[HOW TO] Install/ Use Droid 2/X/3 Bootstrap (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ds6tlVHsAy9ZwkswQ8OZdclJRfd3YPXVSQBc0ofsZQE/edit#)

if you made a nandroid with bootstrap, you can restore it
Restore a backup (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ds6tlVHsAy9ZwkswQ8OZdclJRfd3YPXVSQBc0ofsZQE/edit#bookmark=id.jwifvfdcpguk)
if you didn't make a nandroid, you need to install the rom you want
then install titanium backup and pro version ,so you can restore apps backed up with titanuim

Now that I have SBF'd and am up and running. I used the Framaroot and successfully got SuperSu. Is there a CyanogenMOd for .621? I know I am probably frustrating you but I want to do this one time ...make a Nandroid and not have to worry about doing this again. If Cyanogenmod is not available or you recommend a better ROM that is stable please let me know. Thank you so much for getting me to this point.

Ok. I decided to go with the Liquid ICS v2.0 Its running and appears to be solid. What would the next thing to do? Create a back up (I do not use bootstrap to back up 2nd init rom) Or should I restore apps using Titanium Backup then make a back up.

your choice, to get to cwm, use the power button>reboot>reboot to recovery option
