View Full Version : Fix my stock X2's screen usability issue.

I just got a refurbished Droid X2.

I like the phone except it has a rather annoying habit of the touchscreen being unresponsive. It happens quite regularly. If I sleep it and immediately re-waken it the screen is fine. Sometimes if I just wait 5-15 seconds it will finally respond, but that's way to late to answer a call!

Would a custom ROM fix this?

Though I would like the latest and greats ROM, I need a fairly stable phone, which would be the best choice? Ease of replacing the stock rom with a custom ROM would be a high priority also.

thanks,

Scott

stock rom has lag issue, most likely what you are describing.

installing a rom like [ROM] Eclipse v2.3 (http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x2-roms/46031-rom-eclipse-v2-2-5-7-12-a.html) will help

what system version is on phone, Menu button>settings>about phone>1.3.418?
if not please post your version, it will change the steps needed

I installed my first custom ROM! I used your YouTube video for instruction. Excellent! I was a bit nervous but it went without a hitch.

Phone seems to be much more responsive, and the Eclispe looks great!

thanks again,

Scott

My X2 is still having an unresponsive screen issue. NO fix whatsoever with the new rom.

If it becomes unresponsive and I cycle it to sleep and back, it seems to be fine. most of the time.

I've read countless articles on the wed about this and no rock solid solution. Maybe its just a POS? I chose the X2 because it was the largest screen android phone that works on PagePlus.

Somebody said it may be the external SD card being flacky, so maybe I'll pull it and see if that fixers things.

Too bad, I was hoping it was an OS problem. :mad2:

yes, sd card may need to be formatted, backup data before formatting
