You can manually do it, but not OTA, it will push 621 on ya, check my sig for how to flash, 1kds was my favorite way to update.

Yup just SBF up to 602 or 605. Stay away from 621.

I was looking at the sbf.zip links/downloads u have and was wondering which to choose. If I select the 2.3.3 / .605 update that will bump me from the current 2.2.1 that I have?? Now this is the first time I will push an update. Is there anything I should NOT do? Is there any specific steps I have to do??

Are you looking at the x EzSBF links? That's the easiest way to go. You will need to wipe data so you will lose everything. The SBF will return your phone to an "out of the box" state on 605.

Easiest thing to do is use Titanium Backup to backup all USER apps and once the SBF is complete just restore them.

So you're using rsd lite or the linux cd? (I have both in my signature)

And what install? Are you trying to use it in stock recovery or cwm?

With the SBF file you'll need to use RSD Lite http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-sbf/12015-complete-droid-x-sbf-flashing-guide.html

Or use the linux cd, its all in one place. SBF + root. http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-sbf/23638-linux-solution-your-windows-rsd-lite-problems.html

So far I have tried the rsd lite for windows and it didn't seem to like that. Kept saying failed flash. I updated my drivers and still didn't like it. I will try the other option with the older version of rsd first before going onto the linux flash setup. I dl'd the appropriate files to do this and placed them on a usb. Did a test restart of pc and went right into linux...so it works good. I will give it another shot here in a few.
