Is there a way to just install and use the multi-touch keyboard from eclipse on my stock X2? Couldn't seem to find am answer when I searched, so sorry if its been explained somewhere already. I'm rooted and on the latest 2.3.5 build.

Hmm maybe. First thing you need to do is make a nandroid, Download the Eclipse zip, open it, go to the System folder, find the "LatinIME.apk" and copy it to your external card. Then on your phone, using root explorer copy your stock keyboard app to your external card so you have a backup if something is wrong. Move the LatinIME.apk to system/app, fix permissions, fix owners, reboot...

Thanks, I appreciate the help! Quick question: how do I fix permission? Hate to bug ya, I just can't seem to remember how.

It's no problem. Do you use root explorer? If so just long press on the apk after its in the system/app folder and select fix permissions. Make them match all the other apps in there. You may have to fix owners to match all the others too. Same method.
