Hey Guys

I loaded 604 / 2.3.5 / Milestone X some time back. Some things came up and the rest of the process got put on hold.
With my current load, what's the continuing steps to load MIUI 2012.5.12 by WizardOfOz?

Sorry for the inconvenience and my ignorance :-/

FYI
I already have "MIUI.us_Shadow_2012.5.12-Wizard0f0s-signed.zip" loaded on my SD and ready to use.

To install CWM on a stock Droid device, you need to:

Root the device Install (for example, from the Market) Droid 2 Bootstrap Recovery
Press Bootstrap Recovery; the application should pop up a message about a successful installation

To update to the most current version

Get ROM Manager from the Market. Start it, and choose the first item, Flash ClockworkMod Recovery. Choose DROID X (2nd-init) (this is important). Grant Superuser privileges when asked to.

Boot to cwr with d2 bootstrap (Reboot recovery)
Wipe/factory reset and flash

OK... got CWM 2.5.0.8 Recovery Boot up... I got "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" selected... how to I tell it to do it? Pressing home, menu, or power button just makes the screen go blank, and doesn't actually tell it to do that.

When I hit Reboot Recovery inside the Droid 2 Bootstrapper app, it reboots into ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.8.
I am able to select what I need but the camera button doesn't execute it. Ugh...

I think you can Delete rom manager and navigate in file explorer to clockwork on sdcard and delete it, reboot then just do d2 bootstrap over again without rom manager in which case, the power button is your select button...... Trying to get confirmation now

I got it going... using Rom Manager, I reflashed CWM Recovery in Rom Manager with the DX (2nd Init) and did the Reboot Recovery in D2 Bootstrapper... able to use power button now.

- Do a factory reset from within this menu.

- Navigate to "Install zip from SDcard" and select your Rom. Say "yes" to the install and wait for the process to complete.

- Reboot. Congratulations! Your phone should now boot up into the new Rom

If it boot loops, pull the battery then reboot and volume down at blue led, go to recovery, cwm, factory reset again, reboot
:D

You are welcome and thank you
Btw, delete d2 bootstrap you won't need it again and using it can cause issues from here out. just hold Power button to boot to cwm and or volume down at blue led during boot up with bring the boot menu up full of options. like in fixes you can make it so just the power key wakes the phone and you can turn off the hard key lights. Leave cpu settings alone for now, I will give ya some good settings tomorrow or later tonight after work.

If you hold the power button and boot to boot menu, go to cpu settings, you can change your gov for better performance, I use boostedass, its best for how I use my phone but uses a little bit more of the battery than performance setting does.
You can also change the clock/clk and vessel/vsl.
My settings are below, after you make your changes, if you do, scroll down and save your changes, then back out and go back in to see the changes you made, reboot and your good to go. I under clock (phone speeds) never need the stock setting, everything works fine. Vsl is for the amount of juice you let it use to achieve the speeds you run it at.

enable 1
load_all 0
scaling 8
clk1 300
clk2 600
clk3 800
clk4 900
vsel1 18
vsel2 31
vsel3 41
vsel4 51
If you find your phone not running as smooth, just go back to boot menu and notch vsel 4 up a couple or all the vsel a couple, not all phones run the same just don't overclock (above 1200) unstable for most and can shorten the life of your phone cpu. If you get random reboots, your settings for vsel are probably too low.

Just an add-on note. Scaling 8 simply signifies the boostedass governor. In bootmenu it actually lists them by name.
