I have the Droidx2 now. What's the best phone to upgrade to?

That's really up to you. The hottest phones right now are the Samsung galaxy s3 and the new razr hd. I suggest going to your local Verizon store and playing with them. See which one you like!

^^ this. The SGIII already has an active dev scene so if you want to be able to "play" with your phone I would go with that. The other side of the argument is that if you go with the Razr HD then you will be there when the dev is starting. You will be able to grow with the device and even help out along the way. I struggle with this decision too but it all comes down to personal choice.

Can't do a battery pull on the HD just saying
That's a deal breaker for me

Why would that be a deal breaker? Phones without removable batteries have hard reset methods, which function exactly the same as pulling the battery.

True its not a deal breaker but it is a negative in my opinion. Aside from the reset just the fact you can't take it out (easily) is a bummer. What if you wanted to have more than one battery if you can't always charge it?

I prefer not to have to remove the battery. I don't like having to remove my case to get to it.

+1 for battery replacement. If the Droid x had a non removable battery I would almost certainly have to purchase a new phone & just toss my X into a drawer. Bought a new battery from Verizon recently so could easily go another year or 2 if I wanted. Having that choice & freedom is nice! Just my opinion :)

Yeah. I remember reading that if you don't have the contract for at least 6 months after the upgrade, you owe amazon some money. Not sure how true that is, or how much you owe...but yeah, read the fine print for sure.

Quite true: You owe them their commission that gets revoked if the line isn't kept open 6 months. Same for any third party reseller

I'm way overdue for an upgrade as I'm a proud owner of a DX since its summer debut of 2010. I noticed the Galaxy Nexus (Pre-Owned) is on the Verizon market, off contract for $229.99 It's a bit enticing as I've been off contract since March and have an grandfathered data plan. Or should I wait until the next Nexus around the corner?

Right now Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 are the top two Androids. I am personally going to go for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. But you won't go wrong with either one.

And yes, not being able to remove and replace the battery is a deal breaker. I need to be able to replace a battery if it is low and I still need juice on the device or if the battery won't hold juice anymore. So to be able to remove and replace the battery is a must. Thankfully with both Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 you can remove and replace the battery.
