My Droid X had a faulty battery some time ago, and apparently some part of the boot process was corrupted.

When I powered on the device, it would go to the recovery screen and no wipe/reset/etc. could get it to do otherwise. I managed to get it into the bootloader screen by pressing Power + Vol Down + Camera, and downgraded the firmware. Thereafter, I found out that it will boot properly and give me the old firmware if I hold down camera during the boot process, and go to the recovery screen otherwise. After downgrade, I haven't been able to get back into bootloader, and can't get my device to connect to ADB anymore. (I tried installing rageagainstthecage immediately after downgrading the firmware, with the result that the device disconnected from ADB and will not reconnect, or upon reboot, even recognize USB connections.)

How do I get this thing up and running properly, and ideally, rooted and running a custom ROM? (I want to use it with the IOIO for a robotics project.)

Thanks!

Nevermind, it seems that rooting w/ z4root fixed the problem.

You were able go go from 2.3.4 v.621 to 340? Because that's impossible haha
