Is there a list anywhere of the software/roms/etc that are cross-compatible from the Droid X to the X2? I searched and didn't find much

What did you have in mind? As far as i know most if not all roms are specific to each device.

As cliff said roms are phone specific... because the difference in hardware.. so no dx rom will run on a dx2

That and bootloaders. I had one for the Dx so I guess it won't work with my x2. Thanks for the input!

You can find all the current X2 Roms over here http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x2-roms/

N (http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x2-roms/)ote that all of them except Eclipse require you to be on 2.3.4 in order to flash them.

So if I'm on 2.3.5 I have to go back to 2.3.4?

Unless you want to run Eclipse. Anything else then yes you will need to sbf to 2.3.4. Eclipse by far offers the most stability but CM7 is also a nice gingerbread rom. If you want any of the ICS roms along with CM7 then gotta go back down.
