My car has an aux and USB input on the radio (2009 KIA Optima). Can I use either of these inputs to play my audio in my car from the Droid X? I want to play Pandora. What cords would I need? I assume the cord would connect from the headphone port of the Droid X.

A cable with two male end. I assume the input jack on your Kia is 3.5mm, so your cable will have two 3.5mm male ends.

The other day I plugged my phone into my car stereo via usb and didnt immediately change it to the radio function. So it was reading the phone which started saying a bunch of gps directions files. Yesterday I thought to change folders. Sure enough, I can use it as an mp3 playing in my car.
I love it, I have this Amazon.com: JVC KD-R800 30K Color-Illumination Single-DIN CD Receiver with Dual USB 2.0 for iPod/iPhone and Bluetooth: Electronics (http://www.amazon.com/JVC-Color-Illumination-Single-DIN-Receiver-Bluetooth/dp/B001PL7RIG)
Ipod in read, phone up front.

I think to play pandora you would have to use the aux cable. With the usb cord it will only read your sd card I think. And if you use the aux cable you can listen to your phone calls through the cars speakers.
