I was rooted using eclipse 1.3 and wanted to update to eclipse 2.2. I did a sbf, rooted with 3 different tools, each time resulting in a failed rom flash. Currently I have followed these instructions;
instructions
1 start with stock 2.3.4/1.3.380 to install update, if not stock
SBF to 2.3.4 VRZ_MB870_4.5.1A-DTN-150-30_1FF_01.sbf.zip (http://1kds.tk/) or use [TOOL] ezSBF DX2 (http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x2-hacks/41697-tool-ezsbf-dx2.html)
2 root with Pete’s Root Tools
(http://www.psouza4.com/Droid3/)3 backup root with Voodoo OTA Root Keeper (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.projectvoodoo.otarootkeeper&hl=en) ( select protect root)
4 temp unroot(keeps su backup)
5 install new moto update 2.3.5/1.3.418 (http://www.mediafire.com/?txtg88fgaa8890j) not 1.3.412 or 1.3.413
6 restore root with Voodoo
7 Install bootstrap if you haven't yet
8 remove root backup with Voodoo (Delete su backup as it interferes with the install
9 Reboot into bootstrap recovery
10 Wipe data (http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/##)
11 install [ROM] Eclipse 2.2 (5/8/12) (http://eclipserom.com/vforum/showthread.php?9-ROM-Eclipse-2-2-(5-8-12))
profit

and this is the error im getting
finding update package
opening update package
verifying update package
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted.

Any suggestions?

the reason for rooting with pete's is zergrush removes stock files
so if you tried superone click or doomlords you need to SBF again
also compare md5 (http://download.cnet.com/md5-checker/3000-2092_4-10410639.html) checksums of update file maybe corrupt

edit: also recommend flashing update in android recovery(stock), not clockwork/BSR

Thanks sd_shadow, we are running eclipse 2.2 as of this morning. I was actually following Nitro's instructions prior to the updates he made to the instructions. :big smile:I also had some problems running pete's root tool as it would not install root. To overcome this I simply opened the support files and ran adb from there and then ran pete's root tool. This granted me me root. Hopefully that info may help other. Also, I would highly encourage anyone to stay away from zergrush.
