Hello all and thanks in advance for your help/insight. I recently had to get a new phone (samsung galaxy note, still warming up to it), so i have my rooted verizon droid x that i no longer need as a phone. Is it possible to flash a full linux distro (w/ gnome 2) to the phone? I had seen a few places around the interwebz that were pointed towards this end, but haven't found them again. I am not concerned about being able to use it to make calls, but would like to use the camera, speaker, microphone, wifi, and fm antenna. Being able to use it as a media device for vids, music, and to-do lists is kinda what i'm going for. So, is it doable? more work than it's worth? Any feedback is appreciated. 7 /-/ 4 /\/ /< 5

First off, gnome 2 is outta date, so you prob want lxde. also, ubuntu is on there way to making an official OS for phones basically just needing vendors i guess. Ubuntu for Android | Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com/devices/android)

Heres a site i found to put ubuntu on, dunno how old it is, etc. AndroLinux.com - Home of Android Linux Development! (http://androlinux.com/)

I tried out lxde with mint 12 (since both my systems don't run unity or gnome3 well; old tech) and didn't take to it right away so naturally ran back to mint11/gnome2. 7 /-/ 4 /\/ /< 5
