Hey ya'll, figured I'd post this up here. SaurusX over @Rootz got the HDMI-Audio issues clearing up with the lib settings so HDMI audio and video work now. Currently the fix is implemented only for CM7 (Rev/Pooka's builds) its working on getting ported to other ROMs with HDMI-out; it just got fixed yesterday (Wiz's, etc.) Since DXF doesn't have an official thread for the CM7 here and dev mostly happens over @Rootz figured I'd let ya'll know. You can grab the latest build off goo inside me, use the usual gapps. I'm flashing it to a slot in BM to test it out, but its been confirmed to be working by multiple people.

Can either of these be flashed as an update?

Meaning as an update.zip in stock recovery? If so, negative. Those have to be signed by Moto.

No, meaning flash in CW with no wipes. Sorry, forgot to specify.

When switching to an entirely new ROM you always have to wipe data and cache.

There are no instructions so please forgive me if this has been asked 1000 times. I am on stock rooted .605... I have gone from stock to Vortex and it was painless. However, I put CM7 on my Lenovo pad and absolutely LOVE it! Please correct me if i am wrong but are these the steps I should take to go CM7 from stock (rooted) .605:
1) Back up full system (done)
2) Titanium backup...done
3) Download CM7 and Gapps from link above?
4) Wipe data/cache/Dalvik
5) Reboot install CM7 .Zip
6) Reboot install Gapps
7) Run Titanium batch restore missing apps only

A few questions: Does everything work? BT? Wifi? Testing? MMS? 720P video? HD Photos? Etc? Anything "major" that does not work?

Thanks for your help.

Boot into recovery, wipe data/cache/dalvik cache, then install CM7, then install Gapps. Then reboot. When you want to flash a newer CM7 version over it, just wipe cache and flash the new CM7 file.

One thing, do not use Bootstrap. It will cause you to have to sbf. Recovery is built into CM7. Use ROM Manager or hold the power button, then select reboot, then recovery.

Everything works, although I'm not sure on 720p video. There was a patch but it caused a bunch of problems.

There are instructions in the OP over at Rootzwiki (http://rootzwiki.com/topic/10191-updated-info-on-revnumbers-cm4dx-gbhdmi-out-1-battery-no-charge-led-fm-radio-charge-while-off/). I'm always hesitant to use TiBu to restore all of my apps, because I've had problems before. If it works for you, then that's great. Everything currently works, though you do have to install my revised 720p patch (http://rootzwiki.com/topic/10191-updated-info-on-revnumbers-cm4dx-gbhdmi-out-1-battery-no-charge-led-fm-radio-charge-while-off/page__view__findpost__p__554337) to get 720p camcorder and 720p video playback as it is not built into the ROM. It alleviates a lot of the problems inherent in DXC's older 720p patch.
