So I was trying to decide which way to hook up my X to my car stereo. Which style do you guys think has a higher audio quality: Bluetooth or the audio jack?

I'm sure someone will tell you that the jack sounds better, but the BT sounds great on my Clarion CX609 and monsoon amp.

Jack will have better quality. But if your deck has USB input, you will (most likely) get better SQ by allowing your deck to perform the DAC.

Actually my radio has USB, Aux in, and BT. It really depends on what you are listening to.

-Pandora is lossy. The sound isn't perfect, so BT is plenty good enough.
-MP3s are lossy, but better than Pandora. I've found BT sounds great with MP3s.
-Lossless sources need the BEST hardware (USB, with an expensive sound system). I've never tried this, since I'm not much of a purist.

I just need some music on the way to work. For most people, BT is awesome. For the purists, it's junk (or so I am told).

I am mostly using it for pandora, so I wanted to know which is best for that. I still use my zune for the mp3s cause it has superior video output for my in dash.

But yeah I care about sound quality. I have 2 pair of focal 165kr speakers, kenwood dnx8120, 4 rockford fosgate p3d410's, a rockford t1500-1bdcp, and a rockford t400-4

All that is a waste on Pandora. I do wish Pandora sounded better. It's not bad, but my MP3s are noticeably better, even over bluetooth.

I do pandora and mp3s over bluetooth on my jvc xr810. It sounds better than pandora did through the aux cable on my old stereo, but still not as good as mp3s.

I don't know about the bluetooth, but a nice system will only reveal the poor quality of the DX's cheap A/D converters on the 1/8" jack. Granted, I'm sure it's on the level of other phones and MP3 players. But, when I listen to tracks from my DX through my monitoring system in a treated room (which I use for professional audio recording and component testing) the DX 1/8" output sounds disgusting compared to the same file played through my PC and a cheap soundcard. I only listen to music through the DX when I have no other source available. Maybe the bluetooth is better, but I haven't tried it.

Maybe the bluetooth is better, but I haven't tried it. Would you be willing to try? You being the audio purest, your opinion on the matter would be nice.
