First time I have rooted a phone was about 6 months ago. I have flashed back to Android version 2.2.1 installed so that I can use exchange. I am looking for a ROM that will work with Exchange Server and Cisco VPN. I want some more up to date and faster.

Thanks

Exhange should work on any rom you run.... keyword being should. I dont personally use it so I cant really comment on it or how to set it up. Stock Motorola gingerbread also supports it.
and these apps do Exhange (some need purchased)

Thanks. But the reason I flashed to 2.2.1 was because 2.3 didn't support Exchange Server. As for the vpn i am looking for something that will support Group Authentication.

Cisco release notes for Android any connect http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/vpn_client/anyconnect/anyconnect24/release/notes/rn-ac2.4-android.html
It lists group in the feature notes (may be different from your needs I don't know :-)

Are you sure you setup everything correctly on gingerbread for exchange? If you're unsure here is how Motorola suggests to do it ( not saying you don't know just offering information and I have read of it being buggy on more than one occasion )

All else fails these below and above do exchange and touchdown (even though its pricey) has been known to work well and after the release of the x was offered from verizon and Motorola because of the stock issues with exchange (which is why in said above it can be buggy) - this may be of some help if they still offer it http://www.droid-life.com/2010/08/10/motorola-providing-touchdown-licenses-to-droid-x-owners-with-exchange-issues/

I know when it first came out ActiveSync wasn't working. I haven't tried it since I reinstalled Froyo 2.2.1 May be there was an update that fixed it.
