View Full Version : SBF'd DX crashing, can't launch apps, root, or anything :/

I sbf'd after getting stuck in a boot loop. I'm attempting to get back root and bootstrap. When I boot I get a blue triangle at the top. Also, when I try to launch an app, it just freezes for a few seconds, and nothing happens. I can't close the app drawer, and can't use the home, menu, back, etc. buttons. I can still drag the app drawer around though (really odd). Any suggestions for getting back on solid ground? Thanks

Have you tried doing a factory reset?

Ah, I thought SBF'ing was the closest thing to that. I assume this is what you mean? https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/48517/~/droid-x---factory-data-reset I'll be trying that, but I don't think I'm able to open the menu from home...the whole thing is messed. I'll try SBF'ing again, and then factory resetting..

No luck. Another SBF made no improvement. I can't use the menu hard button. Still stuck.

You need to do a factory reset after an sbf here's how http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-rs-video-guides/38320-hd-video-guide-how-do-factory-reset-your-droid-x-running-gingerbread.html

Oh right, I remember now. I haven't done this stuff in a while. Its slowly coming back to me. I'll post back if I have any more troubles, otherwise, many thanks for saving my DX :D Looking forward to a shiny new ApeX rom.

Howdy,
OK, some more details.
What file are you using for SBF? what version rsd lite? Are there any errors showing before, during, after sbf?

Maybe try burning a cd from iso (1KDS version of a auto bootable, linux push sbf disc) http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-sbf/23638-linux-solution-your-windows-rsd-lite-problems.html

+1 for factory reset after SBF, it seems redundant but it helps sometimes.

Power+home+search was totally what I needed. Thanks Savage, Nemo, Day, and ryant for the awesome and speedy responses. Awesome forum :)

It's not that it's redundant... An sbf just doesn't wipe the user partition
