Ok. I hate calling my self this but I am a noobie at rooting phones. I have gb v 2.3.3 and Gingerbreak is not working. The app downloads but when I hit "root device" it starts like it is going to but just keeps doing the exploiting thing. What the hell?

Gotta use one of these root methods, Gingerbreak does not work on the OTAs.

OTA = Over the air, it refers to the official updates that Verizon pushes out. .602/.605 were OTAs, any Gingerbread prior were leaks.

Also, what do you mean it won't unzip? Just place the zip file on your PC, open the file using the regular file explorer on your PC, then there should be a button at the top of the window that says "Extract" hit that, then go to where it extracted to, open the extracted folder, and run the .exe

All this is done on your PC, not on your phone.
