First, I take absolutely no credit for this! Dragonzkiller is the man, thank/donate to him please!

CM is probably the most widely used ROM out there, it is built from source rather than from software from manufacturers or carriers, many ROMs are based on CM.

this is awesome news... kinda..haha... no i just have to talk my friend into letting me put this on his phone...hahaha....
major props go to dragonzkiller... i've been following the threads over at xda... and he's put in some major work.. and ran into some interesting problems... but he pull it off with some help from hashcode...

CM is completely based off of AOSP. This is a first for the X2 since the complete BLUR framework is removed.

can i flash over molten v2.3

CM is still in alpha, so I wouldn't expect great results, but you could give it a try if molten is 2.3.4 based.

Be careful with it. I have 2 DX2's and one is for testing all sorts off things. Yes it works but there are some very needed fixes in that rom. One of which I noticed is a major flaw and for some reason I haven't found a solution for yet. It severely k rock's the battery out of calibration when flashed from any liquid rom and a simple calibration of the battery does NOT, I REPEAT DOES NOT FIX THAT ISSUE. I am currently working on this and will let you know why this happens and how to fix it.

One idea I am going to try is flashing back to the latest stock rom and then to CM to see how that works.

Remember that flashing from stock is the safest anyway. And a few extra steps won't cost anything but a little time.

For those of you who don't feel like wading through the XDA thread, I'll sum it up for you:

-External SD-card doesn't work, but temporary and permanent fixes have already been found. They're already going into the beta.

-Google Voice, Bluetooth, Card Dock(?), and su updates don't work. Recovery boot options have been disabled because you still need to use the DX2 BSR

-A fixed BSR .apk and a zip need to be installed to get BSR working.

Overall...very fast, clean, and stable. Pretty fantastic for an alpha. I'll be staying on it, I mean it's CM7, what did you expect?

Yeah, it's pretty safe flashing but is missing so much that its only good for tinkering around with and experimenting with. Watch out as recovery can be tough.

A new version of bsr really isn't needed. You just have to flash the hijack patch after you make changes(ie battery patch) in the old recovery.

You just install them like a regular app because they are just .apk files... Then you can use theme chooser to switch them

Everyone caries one deep inside...
It's just a matter of how much you let it slide

CM7DX2 is now in beta. Large improvement over an already awesome alpha. All hw is supported except fm radio, afaik.

Ok I figured it out. Firtst download the theme then go to theme Chooser apply theme. Then reboot, And bam ur running. Also there is a app called wallpaper Chooser that has wallpapers for select themes. I'm running epic blue and it is amazing :)

I prefer eclipse over cm at this point. Up until cm7 has a fully functioning rom to appreciate. Loving the commitment for the port though and can't wait to see the final product :-)

CM7DX2 is, as far as I can tell, a fully functional ROM other than the FM radio. Superfast too!!! Awesome ROM!

Well ur gonna have to do the 2.3.5 update before flashing cm7. If I recall correctly they advise a clean install of 2.3.4

Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk

2.3.5 is NOT supported by CM4DX2
