I'm not sure if this is the correct section of this, but I used to be into this stuff and then I got lazy. I'm on MIUI build number 1.9.9, which is on the old kernel (2.6.32.9, not gingerbread) and Android version 2.3.5. How would I go about getting up to date? What confuses me is with the kernel. I don't know if I have to SBF or what. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

You need to SBF to gingerbread then root, then flash

Yep make sure to backup everything, apps, contacts, texts...

Then SBF to .602

Then Root

Install Droid X Bootstrapper

Install new MIUI

Profit

Droid2 bootstrap would be better.....it plays better with gb ....but if not..make sure to uncheck USB debugging first if your using the Droid x bootstrap

I've never bought D2bootstrap. I bought Dxbootstrap & didn't feel like buying ANOTHER bootstrap. I have always used the Dxbootstrap with no problems. As been mentioned, make sure USB debugging is off.
