Im on Vortex RC1 whats the difference when i reboot into CWR using the power button and select reboot into recovery which is blue and using Doid2 Bootstrapper which takes me to a green CWR?? Is there a difference which 1 I use? I am going to flash EncounterICS and need to know if there is a difference. I havent ever run into this problem. Before.

The version... Using bootstrap boots you into the older version.. 2.5.0.8... It makes back ups in an img format.. Takes a bit longer and more room
And the blue is 5.0.2.0... Which supports edify scripts... Makes back ups in tar format for a faster back up.. It's got confirmation where it wasn't before

Just to clarify:
Yes... Back ups made in the .img format (green text... Version 2.5.0.8) can be restored in version 5.0.2.0(blue text)
Bit you can not restore back ups in tar format in version 2.5.0.8

I don't think you will be able to now without getting rom manager and flashing the newest cwm since you used d2bootstrap
Anyone confirm?

Root, Roms and Themes, oh my...

correct nemos...
with rom manager.... after you bootstrap the recovery with droid 2 bootstrap... you can use rom manger to change out the version of recovery to the latest... i just don't think it'll stay... you'd need to do that each time if you wanted to go that route

I've done that, going into rom manager and flashing cwr. But each time I go into recovery using the power button, rom manager, or rom toolbox it is different as to which cwr it goes into to. Droid2 bootstrapper always goes to the old version.

Why don't you reflash the vortex rom. This should put you back to where you were before using bootstrap. You can have bootstrap on your phone. Just don't use it. If you reflash vortex and restore apps don't restore D2 bootstrap.

I think what i did was once i rooted .605 i ran bootstrap to install CwM 2.??? then I opened rom manager and installed CwM 5.??? (not the 2ndinit) then booted into blue recovery and made backup. That was the first and last time i used bootstrap. On every rom i flashed i just opened rom mang. and teinstall CwM 5.0.? then reboot into blue recovery (i have bad luck with backups made from inside rom mngr app). Ive never used power options so idk?
