Hey guys! I saw this forum and it's been tremendous in helping me so far. I took the plunge and rooted my phone. Now, I'm trying to install the CM7 Rom. However, I'm not having any success. I made my Titanium backup, etc. I used Rom Manager to download the latest CM Nightly, and then went into install ROM. My phone rebooted, but nothing happened. My rooted apps I have to work with are ROM Manager, Rom Toolbox, and Boot Manager.

I've tried this twice, but to no avail. Can anyone walk me through this? I thought there was a way to do this without a computer. I have a Mac, but still managed to root, but I'm completely stuck as to what to do for putting on the Rom, which I feel should be the easy part.

Instructions (as detailed as you could try to make them) would be very, very much appreciated!

Are you talking about a droidx and are you on gingerbread?

Yes to both. Rooted using Pete's root method.

Then you need Droid 2 bootstrap (from market) to hijack the recovery but once your on cm4gb its a 2nd initial rom only use clockwork recovery

I just looked in rom toolbox and there is a rom manager in the toolbox with the correct cm7 roms he can use. But like you said he needs droid 2 bootstrap to install.
Goodnight guys....

Hah, I found out what I was doing. Noob mistake.

I have one other question, however. Running CM7, and its working like a dream so far. I lost a bunch of my contacts, though. Just a minor annoyance, but I wanted to know if Titanium backup would have my contacts? I hear that I shouldn't reinstall all apps+data because it might conflict with the new OS?

Also, I don't know if any of the things I have would work. If I restored Contacts storage 2.3.3, contacts sync 2.3.3, or and or contact data 2.3.3, would that work, probably?
