How broken is it? Will it just not bring the camera up or does it click at least once?

If it doesn't register when you press the key..you may need a replacement

There should be a way threw Adb...
but I don't know what commands it would take... But that you can look into that

Replacement is not an option since the phone is going to be replaced in a few months and I don't want to pay the replacement fee

Do you have insurance on it? If its a manufacturer defect then they should replace it free of charge.

I'd go to Verizon and ask if they can replace it or ask if you should file a claim with insurance. I'm sure they'll replace it. Make sure you're stock though.

What is this adb? Everyone talked about how they can change things to exactly how they want it through adb but I don't know what it is.

How long have you had the phone? If it's the original phone that was purchased and not a replacement you have a test from activation through the manufacturer to get a replacement free of charge no questions asked. If it's a replacement you have a 90 day warranty through verizon starting from the day they shipped it out.

There is an app floating around somewhere on XDA that is called button remmaper (?) I could be wrong on the name, but that remaps your buttons so you can use your hard buttons for the function you assign them. I'm not sure if it will work once you are in recovery though but it might interest you. Don't have the link handy but I can probably find it

found it lol that was easy
