Possible for an app to send whatever the screen is showing out the headphone jack to rca plugs? I saw an article somewhere that the Samsung Galaxy / Nokia lineups can do this. Could be a great workaround to the HDMI post only working for phone created content. Any app inventors out there?

I know that it only does audio at this point.

I was wondering if it could somehow be made to do this...

Could an app somehow accomplish this or is it the way the hardware is put together?

I never once have considered a 3.5 jack to put out video. Tbh, I only thought it was for audio, based on the hardware, But if this could be done, that would be amazing.

Samsung enables this in the hardware. Its their take on what HTC did with usb on the Incredible. Can't be done in software. What I would like to see is Redeye come out with and app to work with their 3.5mm jack infrared dongle so I can use my X as a universal remote. That can be done in software but apparently they only want to support Apple.

It's an analog output so it cannot be redesigned for video without physical, internal modification. The only way would be if they had the forethought to wire it for video as well (which they wouldn't likely do without a good reason).

Best bet is to pray someone messes with the HDMI and finds a way to mirror your screen through it. I would be so happy. I already do it with my laptop, but imagine having a computer hooked up to your big flat screen, playing emulators and movies with a wiimote pro...oman. With a phone.
