hi i need some help with installing a new fresh look my droid X is getting boring to look at.
i downloaded an app from the market called: Rom Toolbox by Jrummy
there is a spot to download & install roms but i just get Error:404 so i gave up.
i would like to install a nice cool rom.... any advice where to go and how to do it would be great.
i have ROOT Access.
apps are:
Android Overclock
Bloat Freezer
Droid 2 Boot Strap
Rom Manager
Rom Toolbox (not working right?)

Thank you for taking the time to read thread and help.

give it a couple more minutes, the first boot up takes a little bit if it goes more than well...7 or 8 minutes, probably have to do a battery pull and clear cache and data

Edit: If your not sure how to wipe data/cache, click the link in Cobra's sig, "how to ..android recovery"

Yes your still rooted but you have to wipe data before installing any new rom.

yeah you are still rooted...that will happen...youll have to find the superuser icon, open it up>hard menu>settings>enable root permission....also you might want to look into titanium backup in the market, it will allow you to back up all your apps, so if you flash another roms sometime, after a data wipe, you just open up titanium and you can restore them, paid and free

After you press recovery as the phone is booting you'll see a blue led light flash then press the volume down button. Then choose latest recovery.

Dark slide has been installed. but i dont really see much.... first i did a system restore with what i had for a back up then installed darkslide.... it looks like a normal OTA except the status bar at top has a funny battery mod.

Do you download this to the phone directly or thru the computer? I've tried several times to the phone but all have been unsuccessful.
